Launch timelines for Galaxy S25, Z Flip 7, affordable foldable and other leaked

Samsung, during its latest earnings call, has confirmed that the Galaxy S25 series will launch in the first half of 2025. “The Galaxy S25 series, which will be released in the first half of next year, plans to enhance the Galaxy AI experience to drive innovation in everyday life and expand sales by strengthening marketing and experience programs,” reads Samsung’s blog post. During the earnings call, Samsung also said that it wants to leverage Galaxy AI to drive both sales growth and profitability by focusing on flagship models like the Galaxy S25 series and foldable devices. Additionally, it plans to boost sales of ecosystem products, including the Galaxy Tab, Book, and wearables.
While Samsung only confirmed the launch in the “first half”, as per its usual timeline, we expect the S25 series to be launched in January 2025. The Galaxy S24 series was launched this year in January. The foldables are generally launched in the month of July, and that might be the timeline for the 2025 Samsung foldables as well.
In addition to the Galaxy S25 series and the foldables, during the earnings call Samsung also announced that it will launch its first ever extended reality (XR) headset in 2025. However, a timeline for that has not been revealed. The Samsung blog post just says it is “scheduled to be launched in the future”. As per Samsung’s post, a new version of the Galaxy Ring may also be announced next year.
But there’s more. There are also reports of a new Galaxy S25 Slim, and a (comparatively) affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE for next year. Samsung has not referred to the two in its earnings call. However, reports suggest that the purported Galaxy S25 Slim will launch in April 2025, and the Galaxy Z Flip FE will launch along with the other foldables. The Galaxy S25 Slim will reportedly be the new name for the flagship FE models.
Samsung Electronics reported third-quarter 2024 results with consolidated sales of 79.1 trillion won and an operating profit of 9.18 trillion won. This marks a 7 per cent sales increase over the previous quarter, setting a new record for quarterly revenue, surpassing the previous high of 77.78 trillion won in Q1 2022.
